Eat Well::New Twist on the All American Brownie
By beverly | Posted in Nutrition | July 4th, 2010In previous posts I mentioned my interest in making Raw Foods a part of my diet. After meeting Diana Stobo and purchasing her cookbook, I started drinking spinach shakes every morning. After completing the Spring Cleanse, I continue to avoid foods with refined sugar, gluten and dairy. This has created a challenge when craving desert. That is, until I discovered this absolutely delicious Brownie recipe. Try it. It's amazing.

Live Well::Spring Detox Cleanse Day 29
By beverly | Posted in apple cider vinegar, Nutrition, well being | May 3rd, 2010Lots of lessons learned during Dr. Craig Koniver's Spring Detox Cleanse. Tomrrow is our last day but there will be many lasting disciplines that we will follow in the future.

Live Well::Spring Detox Cleanse Day 25
By beverly | Posted in Body Ami, Health, live well, Nutrition | April 29th, 2010We're on Day 25 of Dr. Craig Koniver's Spring Detox Cleanse. I actually think I could make this my lifestyle with only a few tweaks. Of course we will continue to drink Body Ami twice daily. I must admit that I do miss the occasional glass of red wine or bubbly. I also learned that although I enjoy jasmine green tea, I miss my daily coffee. I'll be back to shade grown, organic decaf coffee in the future (in moderation, of course). We're hooked on raw honey and gluten free hot cereal. Those will be a staple in our household.

Eat Well::Be Well
By beverly | Posted in apple cider vinegar, Body Ami, Diet, Nutrition | March 24th, 2010With all the talk about calories on menus, the overwhelming % of obesity, and a growing consciousness for eating the right foods, I want to offer simple ways to reduce caloric intake and improve wellness.
A very simple way to get more nutritious meals is to substitute rice for pasta or potatoes. Rice bran can help cut cholesterol and lower blood sugar. It is also rich in disease-fighting compounds and fiber. Be sure to chose whole-grain rice. Some options in addition to brown rice are black japonica, red rice, brown basmati which have more fiber and flavor.
